eff eff, bee bee

There's an application for the blackberry that lets you play a mobile version of Final Fantasy, and it made me itch so badly that I wanted it as a remedy! Correction.. Need, not want. Being the retro gamer that I am, playing this would be great, especially with the idea that I'm taking the game anywhere that I go!

Unfortunately, you have to buy it at the bbapps store at $2.99. Sigh.

Oh well, if this itch turns out to be an allergy, I'd know what to do. :)

Whiteberry

Oh yes. Me gots a Blackberry (Bold 9700), a white one, to add! (It really is a big deal for me, considering that I was always a recepient of hand-me-down phones while my younger siblings get the new ones)

BLITZ!

I DID IT! :)

Got to play Final Fantasy X on the PS2 Emulator that I've downloaded and researched! It wasn't easy, considering the emulator's settings and configurations, but somehow, the persistent side in me managed to get through with it. The game (also downloaded) runs smoothly, with the correct mix of the emulator's settings. I wouldn't know how it would run on different games, but this will do for now. (Some games have their own emulation settings, so the settings that made my FFX run smoothly might not work for other games).

I missed this part. Look at Wakka's smug look. LOL.

Some of the game's FMV's (from the first few hours of playing). Couldn't believe how the emulator ran the movies smoothly! On the it's settings however, you should turn on a certain option (for the FFX game) that makes the FMV run normally.

Fight scenes run smooth and without delay! Environment has no missing elements and/or pixels too! I've yet to experience a delay, maybe when I encounter numerous enemies or when I encounter a boss.

Here are some screenies paying attention to the environment. There aren't any spots or missing pixels, and everything is rendered well. At first, this was the difficult part to figure out. Whenever I pass by a scenery as huge as this one, the game slows down.

The cutscenes are rendered well. Sometimes, there would be missing pixels on characters' hair, but I'll let it pass. Game still runs smooth during these scenes.

The PCSX2 emulator is an impressive program that would give you sleepless nights trying to figure out how to make your favorite game run parallel to what the Playstation 2 engine could give. With the 2-3 days of research through forums, youtube, and google, I've made it possible to play one of my favorite titles! It would be selfish of me not to share the settings, but I want you guys to figure it out on your own! Here's to your own sleepless nights! :)

Thirty

The day everyone has been talking about. It has been predicted that this day would bring good vibes and positive chi to everyone. It will also be the day that unicorns will be present and rainbows will shoot out from the sky in new shades of colors. The dirty number- XXX. (or the upsized number)

Coming back to earth, I was so drowned last night with video game trailers, most of them were on the Playstation 3 platform, and some from the PC and PSP. It was the most frustrating feeling ever, since a lot of my favorite titles (and some promising titles as well) would be released late 2011! Could you people imagine the pain of waiting for that long? No? Well me either, as I am currently frustrated with the fact that first and foremost, I don't even own a Playstation 3, and second, I don't have enough money to buy myself one. Now how I could try to keep myself entertained (besides PSP and porn PC games), that I discovered last night as well.

PS2 on the PC ! 

Yeah yeah, I know, I might be a little bit too late on this but hey, It's a pretty sweet discovery for me. It's a bit complicated at first, pretty similar to the Playstation One emulator, bleem! It has a lot of geekishly alien language like the BIOS, the GPU's, clamp modes, cycle rates, and the list goes on and on. These terms might be pretty basic for a sex-deprived person (geek, in short), but hey, I'm the new guy here.

Anyway, It needs some thorough reading regarding the basic terms and procedures, but for the impatient ones, here's a basic video tutorial. It even shows a Final Fantasy X gameplay on the PC.

There's a lot to remember and do here before you could even play a decent game on the emulator, but It's worth figuring out. If it could allow us to play our favorite games from the PS2 all over again, who wouldn't? Some would cringe at the idea of going through all of these just to play games, but I love the challenge. The geek inside of me has emerged and will take no for an answer. This has to be done.

It may be the retro gamer inside of me, who never cared about the graphics as long as the storyline was great. People nowadays are more concerned of the graphics rather than the soul of the game, which is the story or concept. It's a must for the modern games, but it sometimes makes the game shallow. (just my 2 cents by the way, but yeah, who wouldn't swoon over great graphics, yeah?)

With this PS2 emulator, I just hope I could play my favorite titles here. Maybe 2 or 3 days would be enough for me to figure this whole thing out.

and one more other thing: I might be wrong with the geeks being sex-deprived and all. Some geeks do have... well.. hmm.. okay maybe I was still right.
